Seabourn Legend - Charter clients visit to ship

On April 5th I joined the Seabourn Legend in Funchal, Madeira after its transatlantic crossing from St Thomas.  I was meeting my client from Europe who has chartered the ship for the Monaco Grand Prix, and we were to spend two days onboard, sailing to Lisbon, Portugal, in order to finalize and go over all the programming details for this charter.

Although the ship had just arrived in port from a ten day ocean crossing, I was surprised at how immaculate it looked.  The decks were all washed down, the paintwork gleaming in the sun, everything was in place and the ships crew were all smiling. There were about 100 guests onboard which is quite a lot for a transatlantic crossing -  most of them were all multi time repeat customers of Seabourn.

My client and I experienced a wonderful crew on-board of a beautiful ship, they were more than helpful with everything.  We were surprised to find that even after just one meal they all remembered our names and what we drank and it came automatically at the next meal.  The staterooms were spacious and our cabin stewardess gracious, the  largest bathrooms I have seen on any ship as well as the neatest mini balcony (French balcony) which I found worked very well.

After leaving Funchal, we spent a day at sea before arriving in Lisbon.  This day was spent very productively – my client and I had a meeting with the key ships staff – the Hotel Manager, the Maitre D, Chef,  chief Cabin Steward, and Show Production Manager.

Because of the complexity of doing a whole ship charter, and all the customized aspects – menus, presentations, decorations, special event dinners, special needs in port etc etc – we spent the best part of the day discussing and finalizing details.  It was definitely a great advantage to be able to sit down with the ships key officers and really go over everything in order to ensure that everything runs smoothly, and I really appreciated all the time and effort that Seabourn put into this for us.

My client commented that she felt much happier with everything after meeting and experiencing the crew and the ship, the personal attention they gave us left us with feeling that they would make every effort possible to ensure this complex program was delivered in a manner which would bring us all credit.

Sea bourn actually flew in a key person from their Miami office to accompany and assist us.  I have to say that it was a pleasure to work with professionals who sincerely appreciate the incentive business and are prepared to go the extra mile to ensure a clients satisfaction.
