The inaugural aboard the newest and last of Celebrity's Solstice class,

CELEBRITY's “REFLECTION”

In keeping with Celebrity's aim to provide a top of the line product that is eminently suitable for both individual cruisers and corporate programs Celebrity have further enhanced this latest and last version of the Solstice Class ships.  The Reflection combines class with luxury and this latest version of the Solstice class features 34 brand new AquaClass suites, an additional deck, and an expanded sundeck and theatre. Celebrity have also incorporated a variety of enhancements, including the choice of 50 international craft-brewed beers, as well as bbq grilling on the Lawn Club deck. Celebrity has also ripped out Quasar, the mod-futuristic nightclub found on the first four Solstice-class ships, and moved the dance floor up to the Sky Lounge. With the floor occupying what was seating space, passengers now have even less space to find a private spot. Quasar, by the way, was nixed due to lack of use. The Conference Center is now on Deck 4 where Quasar was.

There are a few other smaller additions including, for those who don’t like to share, a private for-fee gym area (treadmill, weight machine, etc.) .  Flywheel, a bike-based exercise class that takes place in a pitch-black room with blaring music (an at-sea first we’re told); and TRX Training, which offers a full body workout using suspension cords.

And finally, although the Lawn Club Grill, a combination cooking class and steakhouse restaurant, and Porch, a casual salad and sandwich venue, are not new — they debuted on Silhouette — it’s good to see them on here on Reflection. They have proved extremely popular on the Silhouette.. This area of the Lawn Club is occupied by a glass show on Solstice, Eclipse and Equinox. The private cabanas are also up here and rent at a hefty dual fee depending on whether you rent on a port day charge or on a sea day..

Celebrity Reflection has many activity options.

  • The Reflection offers a spa and fitness center that has a wet treatment room, a dry treatment room, a sauna, a steam room, and state-of-the-art fitness equipment. The ship also has a basketball court and a jogging track for guests who want to keep fit; if you'd rather cool off by the pool, there are two swimming pools and a whirlpool where guests can soak up the sun and there's plenty of space for you and the whole family poolside.
  • For the kids, there is a video arcade full of fun games to play, and there are two youth centers - the Fun Factory for the younger crowd, and the XClub Teen Center for the older kids.
  • There are several spots on the ship where guests can "get away" for a more relaxing afternoon such as  the cabanas at the The Alcoves - the perfect private retreat on The Lawn Club. This delightful spot features luxurious cabana-style alcoves where a la carte food and beverages are delivered to you in picnic baskets, and each bed offers a fantastic view.
  • The Hideaway is another retreat where guests will encounter a great place to relax, read a book, or even escape to a private "treehouse"!
  • The Art Studio is a great new venue located at the Lawn Club as well, where guests can experience intimate, hands-on instruction in drawing, painting, beading, and much more - all from resident experts.
  • If you just want to relax with a good book the Reflection has a library stocked with the latest novels as well as Apple products to experiment with.

Staterooms:

One of the major changes from the earlier Solstice class ships came by way of slicing the top-ship Sky Observation Lounge in half to introduce a new private suite enclave, which includes five Signature Suites and the house-sized Reflection Suite
To access the area, passengers need to swipe a special key card and enter a long corridor flanked on one side by the Signature Suites with the Reflection Suite at the end.
The Signature Suites are 441 square feet with a 118-square-foot verandah, and feature some neat touches like:
  • Floor-to-ceiling windows and verandah doors
  • In-room iPad
  • 24/7 butler service
  • Outdoor whirlpool
  • And the Signature Suites are proper suites, with two separate rooms (unlike the AquaSpa Suites, detailed below).
The 1,636-square-foot Reflection Suite is breathtaking. The accommodation features an enormous living room, two bedrooms and a vast bathroom with the already-famous overhanging shower attached to the side.
    Features include:
  • A 194-square-foot wraparound verandah
  • A sea-view bathroom with one-way glass extending out over the edge of the ship
  • A verandah tub with a rain shower
  • In-room iPad
  • 24/7 butler service
  • Two bedrooms — a first for the brand
  • Up to six can stay in the Reflection Suite and up to four in the Signatures — so a group of 26 can occupy the whole space.
Another major change to Reflection is the addition of 32 new AquaClass Suites where the Conference Center used to be (Deck 13).
Each of the AquaClass Suites has 300 square foot of interior space with a 79-square-foot verandah. There are lovely, marble-floored bathrooms with bathtubs and Bulgari products. AquaSpa suiteholders also have exclusive access to Blu, a specialty restaurants serving light(ish) Mediterranean cuisine, and the Persian Garden spa area, comprised of a warren of treatment rooms (think rainforest, desert, etc.). But honestly, these aren’t “suites” — they’re cabins with a bigger seating area.

The standard accommodation feature cabins with contemporary style, created by some of the best architects and designers in the world. The Choice is between Suite, Veranda, Oceanview, Inside Cabins.. Cabins include efficient layouts and decadent amenities, all with a personal touch. All rooms are equipped with TVs and wireless Internet connections

Reflection is a beautiful ship, and a fine addition to what was already a game-changing class.
