Worldwide first
initiated their annual gathering back in 2003 intending it to be a
small token of appreciation for the cooperation and hard work
contributed by our suppliers staff, in particular the back-room
guy’s and girls who manage the programming for our groups and
charters.
The event proved to
be a popular social gathering for many in the industry. The success
encouraged Worldwide to also extend invitations to management and to
clients whose programs had sailed during the year thus give both
clients and cruise line staff the opportunity to meet the folks for
who they had worked so diligently for throughout the year.
The following year
Worldwide decided to start honoring both clients and industry staff
Worldwide felt had gone “above and beyond over the course of the
year
Both
Worldwide’s Sales and Cruise Co-ordination Departments are tasked
with reviewing the programs they had worked on over the year and
propose a short list of possible recipients. This list is then
voted on to arrive at the one, or occasionally two people that
Worldwide fee are the standouts from what always proves to be a
strong list of contenders.
This year was no
exception, Finally it was decided that the eight week $10M charter
signed with Silverseas Cruise for the Rio Summer Olympics was the
stand out from a number of erstwhile contenders for the “Top
Corporate and Incentive Cruise Partner for 2015”
Worldwide also
acknowledged – The JoCo Team, who have continually increased their
passenger
numbers to the point where their annual program is now big enough to
go for a full ship charter.
Congratulations to both this year’s winners.
The Gathering was as
always well attended with over sixty happy party goes turning out
for one of the Holiday Season's early parties, held once again at
the Bloss's residence. |
