Steve & Diana
Bloss attended the Incentive Works Show in
Toronto Aug 25 to Aug 26.
This is the first
of the three Incentive Shows we exhibit at
annually, to be followed by IT&ME Sept 29 to Oct
1 in Chicago and EIBTM Dec 1 to 3 in Barcelona.
I think it is fair to say many of our colleagues
in the cruise industry, just like us, had the
feeling that the show just might resemble the
IT&ME Show following 9/11.
I am very happy to report that from my
perspective attendance seem to be about normal
for this show. We would, along with our trade
show partners Regent Seven Seas and Crystal,
like to thank all of the people that attended
the show, and particularly to all of the buyers
and attendees that stopped by our booth. All of
us walked away with a few good leads and new
contacts. Most of all both Diana and I would
like to thank the organizers for arranging such
nice cool weather for us Floridians.
A special thank you to some of the MPI members
who stopped by to comment on my participation as
a panel member last June at Niagara Falls
discussing how to use cruises for meetings and
incentives.
I know that many of our friends in the cruise
industry and ourselves have gone again to our
crystal ball and tea leafs to try to determine
what the attendance will be like this year at
the IT&ME Show. It goes without saying that
attendance has dramatically declined over the
past decade. Is it time to reinvent this show?
We would like to get your opinion and views on
this show as well as your ideas on how best to
use our time and resources in seeing and meeting
you. Please drop me an email with your
thoughts.
We look forward to seeing
you in Chicago at booth 3629 in the Cruise Ship
Section. |
