Yacht Turama - Review

This year (2006) Worldwide had three vessels chartered for the Monaco Grand Prix with Turama being one of them for the first time.

The Turama is a true privately owned yacht not to be confused with the “Yachts of” term used by several cruise lines today. The owner designed this ship, he has another larger one by the way, to be used for business and pleasure.

The yacht is sleek and most elegant with a paint job that you will only find on true Mega Yachts that requires ypu to wearing sunglasses when you look at her. The yacht is 385 feet long and 56 feet wide with a total of 5 passenger decks and two elevators.

While there are a total of 43 cabins not all can be used for your clients. Here is how and why the cabins break down:

1  Master suite which is like an apartment and covers almost half of one deck. There is a his and hers bathroom, and dressing rooms. This suite has private access to its own deck area with Jacuzzi and bar. Panoramic views and lots more.

2  Jr Master Suites which are big by any standards with a spacious sitting area.

24 Luxury double and twin VIP suites (the 9 twin beds are really double beds but are fixed and can not be moved). Again these suites are very big by any standards with a nice sized sitting area. Two of these suites are equipped for handicapped guests if required.

All suites feature marble baths with double sinks, full size Jacuzzi baths and “rain shower” shower heads, very large TVs and wifi access. Needless to say all of the amenities, the robes, the slippers the towels etc etc are from the highest top shelf. All of the suites décor are simply elegant and very warm. The suites are very spacious, the size you would find in a luxury five star hotel. There is a lot of wood and warm rich colors that produce an air of elegance and tranquility. The bedding is of the highest quality. There is simply nothing like it on the high seas.

There are 16 single “first class cabins”. These cabins were designed to house the staff, nannies, personal assistants and other parties that travel with the owner and his guests. These cabins are comparable to a cruise ship cabin and should only be used by your staff.

For planning purposes you should consider using this yacht for 54 guests plus your staff. There is a crew of 60.

Other Facilities include:
Dining room that can seat all guests in one seating. It is possible to dine ‘alfresco’ outdoors as well.

The main salon and bar
The Long Bar which is a panoramic bar/lounge aft of the ship with piano and disco facilities.
Gym and sauna
Beauty salon
Swimming pool and Jacuzzi
Conference theatre/exhibit space that seats 80
12 Seat private cinema/conference room (unbelievable equipment)
Fully certified helipad
Reception area
Cardroom
Private office for staff members with internet room next door
Business center
Expresso Café which is a small self-serve coffee shop with snacks open 24 hrs
Well stocked library and videos
Wifi in all public areas

Most of the public areas are done in exotic woods from around the world and beige tones to give a nice warm glow throughout the ship. There is more than ample original art, and an abundance of beautiful flower arrangements throughout the yacht. The word "elegant", only really touches on what you actually see and experience when you step on this private vessel.

For your really top end groups that are looking for an experience of a life time this is really it.
