Too much of an adventure?

The adventure expedition cruise ship, Clipper Adventurer ran aground on Friday, August 27, when the vessel hit what was described as an uncharted rock off the coast of Nunavut.

No injuries were reported, and the 128 passengers stayed onboard until the Canadian Coast Guard could ferry them to Kugluktuk, according to reports.
the icebreaker Amundsen had been dispatched to the area and was expected to start removing passengers within a couple of hours.

He said there were 197 people on board and no one was reported injured.

The passengers will be moved via the icebreaker to Kugluktuk, Nunavut, about 50 nautical miles away.

Adventure Canada will fly the passengers to Edmonton on Monday, August 30.

The vessel was on the final leg of a Northwest Passage itinerary, with the Canadian Coast Guard taking two days to reach her.

It remains to be unseen when authorities will be able to get the ship off the rock, and how much damage there will be.
