Silversea scoops up three awards in two weeks |

Cruises has enjoyed two weeks of worldwide recognition, scooping three coveted
accolades which firmly cement its position at the very top of the cruise line
sector.Silversea was named “Best Small Ship Cruise Line” at the prestigious Condé Nast Traveller Readers Awards in London on 1 September 2010, voted for by the discerning readers of the UK edition of the premier travel publication. The cruise line received an overall score of 90.37, placing the company 42nd in the World’s Top 100 Travel Companies. Silversea also scored a high 94.66 for décor and ambiance, as well as a magnificent 95.54 for the onboard food and beverage experience. On 30 August 2010, Silversea was delighted to pick up its first travel industry award in China. The cruise line was named “Best Luxury Cruise Operator” at the prestigious 2010 China Travel & Meetings Industry Awards 2010 in Beijing, hosted by Travel Weekly China and the China Incentive, Business Travel & Meetings Exhibition (CIBTM). The awards were voted for by readers of Travel Weekly China, a leading magazine serving travel and tourism professionals in China, Hong Kong and Macau. And on 19 August 2010, the travel advisors of the luxury travel network, Virtuoso, selected Silversea as the “Best Small-Ship Cruise Line” for 2010. The award was presented at a glittering Gala Awards Dinner at the 22nd annual Virtuoso Travel Mart in Las Vegas. Steve Odell, Silversea’s senior vice president Asia Pacific, commented: “We are honoured to receive these three outstanding accolades in the span of two weeks. This recognition reaffirms our dedication to providing guests with the ultimate cruising experience.” Silversea will be returning to Australasian waters this summer, with Silver Shadow embarking on her first circumnavigation voyage of Australia, and the new flagship Silver Spirit making maiden calls into Australia and New Zealand as part of her epic World Cruise. |
