Panama takes the lead on Carnival Splendor fire investigation |

Flag-state Panama launched an investigation of the Carnival
Splendor engine-room fire.
The US Coast Guard is joining the investigation because the
ship carried mainly US citizens, and USCG requested technical assistance from
the National Transportation Safety Board. |
