Costa Maya to Welcome Pullmantur, TUI Thomson

Costa Maya, one of Mexico’s largest cruise ports and emerging destinations, will welcome European cruise lines Pullmantur and TUI Thomson in 2010. The two cruise lines join 12 others set to call Costa Maya this year, continuing the port’s re-emergence as one of the Western Caribbean’s and Mexico’s top ports.

In 2010, new facilities will enhance the dining and entertainment offerings at Costa Maya. The Hard Rock Cafe, to be located less than 1,000 feet from the port’s main complex, will welcome guests on Jan. 28, while the port will also be adding a Mayan Museum, set to open its doors this spring. These new facilities are also welcoming travelers from Royal Caribbean International’s Oasis of the Seas and Norwegian Cruise Line’s Epic. The vessels are both set to make their Costa Maya debut this summer.

Pullmantur has added Costa Maya to its seven-night “Mayan Caribbean” itinerary aboard the Pacific Dream. Beginning March 20, the line will make weekly calls through the end of June. TUI Thomson will feature Costa Maya on two of its itineraries, the 14-night “Caribbean Experience” and 14-night “Cuban Adventure” beginning Dec. 23 and Dec. 30.
