The line says the 5,400-passenger sister to the much-ballyhooed Oasis of the Seas now will set sail on its maiden voyage on Dec. 5 instead of Dec. 12. The inaugural itinerary is a seven-night cruise to the Western Caribbean out of Fort Lauderdale.
Royal Caribbean says passengers booked on the original Dec. 12 inaugural sailing will be contacted by their travel agent or a Royal Caribbean representative and given the opportunity to move their vacation to the new Dec. 5 sailing date.
Passengers booked on the Dec. 12 voyage who decide to move to the Dec. 5 voyage will be re-accommodated in the same cabin and category, and the cruise fare will be the lower of either the fare paid or current prices. Passengers booked on the Dec. 12 sailing have until the end of February to make the change.
At 225,282 tons, Allure of the Seas will share the title of the world's largest cruise ship when it debuts in December. Like Oasis, it'll have 2,700 cabins and room for nearly 6,300 passengers at full occupancy.
Allure of the Seas is the last Royal Caribbean ship currently on order.
