Ships for sale impairment losses continue at Genting Hong Kong

 
Genting Hong Kong, which used to be known as Star Cruises, booked further impairment losses last year with regards of ships up for sale, although these were much lower than in the previous year.

“During 2009, the Group recorded an impairment loss of US$28.6 million in respect of the ships and equipment held for sale to reflect their recoverable value. In 2008, a net impairment loss of US$99.9 million was recorded,” the company said in a statement.

The 50,760 gross ton Norwegian Dream that was built in 1992 and the 4,200 gross ton . MegaStar Taurus that is of similar vintage and which have been classified as non-current assets have
