To house the new behemoth, the Port Everglades terminal had to be expanded to three times its original size at a cost of $75 million. The terminal also includes an embarkation area with 90 check-in counters — the most of any cruise terminal worldwide, according to Port Everglades officials, allowing guests to check in and be ready to board in 15 minutes.
But a terminal for just one vessel? Not for long. The Oasis will eventually be joined at Terminal 18 by its sister ship, Allure of the Seas, which is expected to make its maiden voyage in about a year.
