Pacific Sun will join Pacific Dawn in Brisbane from March 2011 to offer 16 cruises from the Queensland capital

P&O Cruises will base two ships from Brisbane in 2011 and operate another season of voyages from Newcastle as the cruise line unveiled more details of its 2010/11 season.
Pacific Sun will join Pacific Dawn in Brisbane from March 2011 to offer 16 cruises from the Queensland capital, boosting capacity by 50% for the first half of 2011. The move follows increasing demand of cruising from Brisbane, P&O said.

The program also features the first seven months of cruising on the Pacific Pearl from Auckland and Sydney. The Pearl joins the fleet in December 2010. Voyages include a 10-night cruise to New Zealand in March 2011 and a 28- day trip to Tahiti in July.

Meanwhile, P&O will return to Newcastle and operate eight cruises to the South Pacific, New Zealand and Australia in February and March. The cruise line will home port in Newcastle for the first time in the 2009/10 season.

In addition, P&O has expanded its number of themed cruises following the popularity of its shorter duration sampler cruises this year. Three-night comedy cruises, food and wine journeys and four-night lifestyle voyages from Sydney, Newcastle and Auckland all feature.
