CIP have now signed the contract for their 2 new ships. |
Compagnie des Isles du Ponant (CIP), one of
Worldwide's oldest cruise partners, are going to go ahead with the
construction of two luxury quality small ships capable of carrying
up to 264 passengers in a very flexible stateroom/suite format. The
ships as yet unnamed are initial called "Super
Levant 1 & 2".
The two ships will be built side by side at the Italian Fincantiere yard in Ancona Italy. The design work is from Stirling Design International who also designed two of CIP's other ships - Le Ponant (64 passenger modern sail cruise ship) and Le Levant the 100 passenger modern yacht style cruise ship. CIP also own the Le Diamant (ex - Song of Flower). The ships are slated for delivery in 2010 - one in the spring and the other in the fall. Some very interesting and adventurous itineraries have been worked up for both the ships with basically one ship cruising from Antarctica to the Amazon as the seasons allow and the other will cruise South East Asia/ Japan/Alaska/ French Polynesia and Australia and New Zealand. Charter rates are VERY interesting at this stage as the company works towards deployment. Call us for details - you will be pleasantly surprised. |
Your on-board dining experience is changing |
The cruise industry is known for its gastronomic
attractions, but trends are evolving toward even more choice,
innovative cuisines, celebrity chefs and less formal dining venues.
The trend tends to be a more casual, but
that doesn’t mean the dining experience shouldn’t be a refined
experience and the cruise lines are working to bring you that type
of dining experience. The trend can be traced back to NCL with their
freestyle dining concept which in various forms has been generally
adapted by most of the major cruise lines. On-board the luxury ships and I include Crystal in with these, the quality has generally always been available and now we are seeing even more creative menu's, more restaurant choices and most decidedly more professionalism in the wait staff. Many of the luxury ships also offer complimentary wine paring with their menu's Quality style restaurants, tastefully furnished and decorated with exceptional personal service and menu's that challenge even the most exclusive shore-side facilities are making dining on these luxury products an experience in itself. |
