Thoughts on the EIBTM Show in Barcelona |

Worldwide continued their long run of exhibiting at
the EIBTM Show in Barcelona. Having been a supporter of this
show since it's second year of inception gives us a unique insight
into the show and it's gradual changes over the years. From an exhibitors point of view the show - albeit an expensive show to participate at - does give us a great return on our investment. Certainly having four of the major cruise line's participation on the booth is a big draw, but I also feel the build up to the show with marketing and promotional pieces origination in several languages from ourselves and our co-participants does help drive traffic to the booth. Unquestionably, the hosted buyer program is a big plus although I wonder how well these buyers are vetted and if they get the opportunity to visit booths that are not in their calendar due to the pressing schedule they have to maintain. No question though Worldwide will be back again next year. It is a unique opportunity to meet with so many of our clients form literally, all over the world all gathered together and all keen to discuss business. |

SITE International Conference in Montreaux, Switzerland. |

Following close on the heels of the Barcelona show
was the SITE International Conference. This year hosted by
Montreux, Switzerland.
The Swiss went all out and truly made the most of their opportunity to showcase not only the delightful city on Montreaux and surrounding area, but also to give the participants a genuine taste of Swiss hospitality. As always the calendar was chock full of interesting educational sessions as well as a a number of excellent SITE functions - not least the presentation of the SITE Crystal Awards. The creativity and expertise exhibited by the winners was value in itself, I never ceased to be amazed by the winning programs. Making new contacts, meeting old friends and generally having the opportunity to reinforce business contacts as well as to be involved in the development and future of our industry makes this a worthwhile forum. Certainly the number of International SITE members from literally all over the world does prove its worth as the leading Incentive Travel organization. |

Tuesday December 10th saw Worldwide host it's annual
Thank You - early season holiday party at Gatsby Bar & Grill in
Davie, south Florida. Even with the bad economic news we where happy to see so many faces show up and enjoy the food and beverages as well as catch up with others in the industry. The Holiday Season always seem to come with such a rush probably because there is so much else going on as the year winds down. Here in south Florida in our 80degree temperature, it's hard to get into the spirit of the Holiday Season. However such is not the case for many of our clients and suppliers in the north and as I write this I am aware that some of you are seriously suffering from the recent very severe weather you have experienced. The Worldwide Team hope that wherever you are and and whatever the weather you will have an enjoyable Holiday Season. Our sincere best wishes for a a Happy, Healthy and prosperous New year. |
