From 2 April to 29 September 2017, Genting Dream will depart weekly on Sundays from her homeport of Guangzhou (Nansha) with guests enjoying two nights at sea before arriving in Naha, the capital city of Okinawa. The thriving urban centre offers a colourful and energetic strip of restaurants, hotels, bars and shops to explore, as well as Shuri-jō, a beautifully restored castle that was once the home of Ryūkyū royalty.

After a day exploring the capital city, Genting Dream continues to sail to the beautiful island of Miyakojima, in Okinawa Prefecture, Japan. The main island in the Miyako group, Miyakojima is a picturesque destination, edged with beautiful white sand beaches and clear pristine waters. Guests then enjoy two nights at sea, making the most of the ship’s countless attractions, before returning to Guangzhou (Nansha) on Friday.

Guests looking for a shorter break also have the choice of a 2-night weekend cruise to the dynamic city of Hong Kong.

“We are delighted to introduce Genting Dream’s first Summer schedule featuring Japan, which continues to grow rapidly in popularity as a cruise destination,” said Mr. Thatcher Brown, President of Dream Cruises. “We listened to our travel partners and our prospective guests; Japan was a top destination request with its distinctive natural environments, cultural offerings and reputation for quality cruise excursion products. We look forward to supporting our travel partners and welcoming their clients on board Genting Dream for the upcoming 2017 summer season.”

Genting Dream can accommodate 3,400 guests in 1,674 staterooms. Guests are attended to by 2,000 crew members, the leading crew to guest ratio in cruising in Asia. Accommodation on board Genting Dream offers both scale and choice for guests with over 70 per cent of staterooms offering private balconies and over 100 connecting rooms catering to extended families and groups. Experience the ultimate luxury in ‘Dream Mansion’, a ‘ship-within-a-ship’ with two floors of lavish suites featuring European-style butler service and exclusive privileges.

Guests will enjoy discovering an eclectic array of over 35 restaurant and bar concepts where they can indulge in the very best of Chinese regional, Asian and international cuisine, with an emphasis on quality and authenticity. On board they will find the best of Genting brands brought together for their enjoyment, including Asian restaurant Blue Lagoon, a menu offering Japanese classics at Umi Uma, and a sophisticated afternoon high tea at Palm Court. Alternatively, the menu at Crystal Life Cuisine has been put together with healthy eating in mind. For something different, fine-dining Chinese restaurant Silk Road turns into a cabaret and burlesque show late in the evening.

Guests can also indulge their passion for the finer things in life at the world’s first JOHNNIE WALKER HOUSE at sea on board Genting Dream. Built around the theme of ‘whisky conversations’, JOHNNIE WALKER HOUSE serves as an exclusive embassy for luxury Scotch whisky and is a place for guests to discover the rich heritage of Scotch whisky. JOHNNIE WALKER HOUSE at sea offers valued guests an exclusive opportunity to appreciate, taste and purchase a selection of the rarest John Walker & Sons variants and single malts that are not available elsewhere, alongside an enriching mentoring experience. Bottles may be purchased duty free and personally engraved at the HOUSE. As guests cruise the seas, they will be entertained and enthralled by ‘China’s Got Talent’ – The Dream Experience, a 45-minute theatrical representation of the worldwide hit TV series held in the Zodiac Theatre, the cruise ship’s 999 seat state-of-the-art venue. An energetic, booming opening montage, complete with the same lighting, set design and theme music as the main China’s Got Talent show, will set the scene.

Innovative entertainment and leisure lifestyle venues include one of the world’s largest Asian reflexology spas at sea, thrilling live shows, duty-free retail and an exciting range of recreation options including a waterslide park featuring six different slides, a stunning 610-metre wraparound promenade, two submersibles, a thrilling ropes course and rock climbing wall.

Other entertainment options on board include legendary Singaporean nightspot Zouk which is bringing its unforgettable parties to the sea for the first time. Guests on board Genting Dream can dance to world class DJs day and night and enjoy a dazzling fireworks display at Zouk. Alternatively, guests can head to Bar 360 where the unique 360-degree design allows guests to enjoy live entertainment from all angles. There are also five beautiful private karaoke rooms on board.
