Royal Caribbean's Empress of the Seas to Sail From Miami

Empress of the Seas will sail short cruises out of Miami when it returns to the Royal Caribbean fleet after spending eight years with sister company Pullmantur.

The 2,020-passenger ship will sail three- to five-night itineraries beginning April 2016, including some five-night sailings that feature overnight stays in Cozumel.

Royal Caribbean previously announced the return of the ship to its fleet in October. An extensive refurbishment was also mentioned. Though full details have not been released, the line did say the ship will feature a rock-climbing wall, new pools and whirlpools, the adults-only Solarium, and the line's signature steakhouse Chops Grille. Empress of the Seas will also feature Voom, the line's super-fast Wi-Fi.

Empress of the Seas left the Royal Caribbean fleet in 2008.
