Haimark Statement on Reorganization

Haimark Line has released the following statement to Cruise Industry News following news of its chapter 11 filing:

Haimark Line, the operator of the MS Saint Laurent, today filed for Chapter 11 and will going through a reorganization. Haimark and the ship’s owners are currently working to resolve insurance issues stemming from the incident in which the ship incurred damages in the St. Lawrence Seaway last June. (All damages have been repaired.)

Any disruptions in service will be announced if and when they occur during this period of reorganization.

Please note that this does not in any way affect the operation of the other Haimark vessels operating in Asia.

Haimark Line, which sailed a Canada/New England program in 2015 and had announced intentions to sail in Cuba, has filed for chapter 11 protection in the United States Bankruptcy Court in the District of Colorado.

The vessel, the Saint Laurent, is currently in Canada/New England.

The filing came on October 30, 2015, and lists Haimark Ltd. as the biggest creditor with a listed debt of $782.772.27.  The second biggest creditor is Fleetpro, a vessel management firm, listed at being owed $642,056.76, while Clipper Cruises, Ltd., believed to be the owner of the ship, is listed at being due $582,531.72.

Haimark also operates a strong riverboat program in Asia.
