Claire NewellScenic has named Canadian travel
expert, author and TV personality Claire Newell the godmother of its newest
Space-Ship, the Scenic Opal.
The
owner and president of Travel Best Bets, Newell will be the first Scenic
godparent from Canada. She will be joined by Scenic Chairman Glen Moroney at a
special ship christening ceremony for media and travel industry leaders from
Australia, New Zealand and North America in Cochem, Germany, on June 17.
The twelfth of the Scenic Space-Ship fleet, the 85-cabin Scenic Opal will have a
heated vitality pool on the panoramic Sun Deck, plus suites with private
balconies.
Claire is the co-host of the travel series Operation: Vacation, currently airing
in the U.S. and Canada on Travel + Escape. She has appeared on the Today Show
multiple times, Fox & Friends, Good Day New York, ABC Morning News – Chicago and
Martha Stewart Living Radio and CNN Radio. She is also the official travel
consultant for Global BC and is the best-selling author of Travel Best Bets – An
Insider’s Guide to Taking Your Best Trips, Ever.
Scenic Opal is the second of two Scenic Space-Ships to be launched this year as
the sister ship Scenic Jasper joined the fleet in April, bringing the total to
12 - including the boutique small ship, Scenic Tsar, which sails exclusively in
Russia. Five more Space-Ships are currently being built for launch in 2016: the
Scenic Amber, which will sail the Rhine, Main and Danube rivers; the Scenic
Azure, which will launch on Portugal’s Douro River; the Scenic Spirit and Scenic
Zen, which will explore the Mekong; and the Scenic Explorer, which will cruise
on Burma’s Irrawaddy River. |
