Azamara Club Cruises appointed seasoned
itinerary/deployment professional Michael Pawlus as director, strategic
itinerary & destination planning. Pawlus joins from Silversea Cruises.
'Our unique ports of call and shore excursion offerings are what differentiate
our brand and we take great pride in our distinctive itineraries and land
discovery programs,' said Azamara president and ceo Larry Pimentel.
Pawlus
brings 'deep expertise in this arena with his exceptional luxury deployment
background, strong yield revenue and rich financial and charter experience,' he
added. 'We look forward to his fresh approach to add to our always evolving
programs.'
Pawlus will oversee the development and deployment of 65 to 70 annual
itineraries for Azamara across the globe. He will work alongside Francisco
Mallmann, associate vp strategic planning & revenue management, Azamara.
'I am thrilled to join the Azamara team and look forward to taking on this new
role,' Pawlus said. 'I’ve worked in the cruise industry nearly my entire career
and have traveled to over 450 ports in 75 countries around the world. I can’t
wait to work with the team at Azamara as I’ve always admired its programs from
afar.'
At Silversea Pawlus was director of strategic itinerary planning since April
2011 and recently handled an eight-ship fleet. Before Silversea he held
positions at Seabourn, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, Uniworld River Cruises and
Delta Queen Steamboat Co. Pawlus started his cruise industry career with Royal
Viking Line and Norwegian Cruise Line, where he spent 14 years.
Until recently Azamara itineraries were largely the work of Claudius Docekal,
director of deployment, destinations and charter sales. As earlier reported, he
joined Crystal Cruises.
According to Silversea, a successor to Pawlus has not been named. |
