A little more than a month after Viking Star®, our first ocean vessel, was christened, Viking Sea® makes its momentous ocean “float out” debut when the ship leaves dry land and becomes waterborne for the first time.

The new ship’s godmother, Viking’s own Karine Hagen, along with her trusty yellow Labrador, Finse, officiated the magnificent ship touching water (and hearts) as it was formally added to the Viking Ocean Cruises® fleet. Karine ceremoniously welded Norwegian commemorative coins under the ship’s mast in keeping with maritime tradition. Viking Sea’s float out signifies the final stage of construction as it moves toward its early 2016 christening
