The books are open for 2016 Europe cruises,
including the 13-day Christening Cruise, departing May 9, 2016, from
Civitavecchia, Italy, to Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
“We are excited to open the maiden European summer season of Koningsdam for
booking and especially pleased to announce the Christening Cruise that will
feature the official naming celebration of this special ship,” said Holland
America President Orlando Ashford.
The Christening Cruise will feature the ship’s official naming celebration on
May 21 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, followed by an overnight in Amsterdam.
From May throughout the summer, the ship will sail round-trip from Amsterdam on
itineraries to Norway, the Baltic, British Isles and Iceland.
The ship’s first ever “Premiere Voyage” departing Feb. 20, 2016, is a
seven-night round-trip from Civitavecchia, the port for Rome, to Croatia, Greece
and other places in Italy. Current pricing on the line’s website shows fares
starting at $999 for inside cabins and $1,299 for verandah staterooms. That
voyage and others through early May opened for reservations in December. The
Koningsdam’s fall and winter itineraries will be announced in coming months.
The Koningsdam introduces the new Pinnacle Class for Holland America Line. The
interiors are being created by renowned hospitality designer Adam D. Tihany and
maritime architect Bjorn Storbraaten, who worked with Holland America on Eurodam
and Nieuw Amsterdam.
Among the new ship’s features are the line’s first-ever, purpose-built
staterooms for families that will have two bathrooms and sleep five. The ship
also will have 12 solo-occupancy staterooms. |
