Anguilla Tourist Board Announces New Late Night Ferry Service from Sint Maarten

The Anguilla Tourist Board has announced the introduction of a new, late night ferry service from Sint Maarten to Anguilla, starting on Tuesday, December 1, 2015.

The new service will depart from the Anguilla-St. Maarten Ferry Terminal at 11:30 PM nightly, arriving at Anguilla’s Blowing Point Ferry Terminal at approximately 12:00 midnight. Two private companies, Funtime Charters and GB Ferries, have been authorized to operate the service.

The service will operate on a rotation basis, and is timed to facilitate the transfer of passengers arriving on the American Airlines’ flight which gets into St. Maarten at 10:35 PM. The departure time will be adjusted if the flight arrival into St. Maarten is delayed.

“The implementation of this service is the result of extensive and fruitful discussions between a number of stakeholders, including the Anguilla Air and Sea Ports Authority, the Government of Anguilla and in particular the Customs and Immigration Departments, and the Charter Companies,” said ATB Chairperson Donna A. Banks. “It is an important indication of the new and collaborative partnership between the public and private sector.

We are committed to working together to improve access to Anguilla, which is critical to the overall success of our tourism industry,” she concluded.
