I n something of a surprise development, the first Caribbean-based Budget brand has just emerged: West Indies Cruise Line.
The veteran Adriana (which has operated Budget cruises in Europe for a series of owners over many years), is due to begin alternating two and five-day cruises out of Trinidad’s Port of Spain at the end of this month (July).
Calls will include neighbouring Tobago as well as Barbados, Grenada and Isla Margarita and the cruises will initially be sold just in those islands. The ship, which is owned by a Russian businessman, will fly the St Kitts and Nevis flag but will have an Eastern European crew. |
