Blount Small Ship Adventures, celebrating its
50th anniversary in 2016, will offer 10 itineraries for the season, including
new, updated cruises and returning favorites. The sailings, to run January to
October, will visit Caribbean, Canadian and domestic destinations.
The
2016 itineraries give travelers the opportunity to explore a variety of
destinations and waterways, all while enjoying Blount’s signature small ship
intimacy.
New Itineraries;
The 50th anniversary of Blount Small Ship Adventures will be commemorated by a
Boston to Montreal‚ cruise with President Nancy Blount on board. The 50th
anniversary sailing celebrates Blount‚s legacy of New England cruising, a pillar
of the cruise line since it was founded by Luther Blount in 1966. The 16-day,
15-night itinerary travels throughout the Northeast and Canada and includes
stops in Martha‚s Vineyard, Mass., Block Island, R.I., Troy, N.Y., Oswego, N.Y.,
and Three Rivers and Quebec City, Quebec.
Blount will reintroduce Caribbean sailings to
its lineup in 2016 with two Bahamian cruises, one of which is the first-ever
Grand Bahamas Cruise‚ The 16-day, 15-night itinerary will visit Turks & Caicos
Islands, as well as Mayaguana, Long Island, Great Exuma, Eleuthera and more in
the Bahamas.
Updated Itineraries;
The popular Locks, Legends & Canals of the Northeast‚ itinerary
will include a new port for 2016. In addition to Quebec City, Montreal and a
number of ports in New York, the cruise will now also visit Three Rivers,
Quebec.
Also added are two additional days and three new stops to its 2016 Bay of
Fundy‚ itinerary, which will now be 12 days and 11 nights. The
additional stops are Halifax, Lunenburg and Yarmouth, Nova Scotia.
Returning Itineraries;
The 12-day, 11-night Bahamian Out Islands‚ cruise explores the
islands of New Providence, St. George’s Cay, Eleuthera and Exumas, departing
from and returning to the Bahamian capital of Nassau.
The 8-day, 7-night Southern Antebellum‚ showcases some of the
South‚s most iconic port cities, including Savannah, Ga. Charleston, S.C., and
Amelia Island, Fla. in 8 days and 7 nights. Highlights of the itinerary include
onboard presentations on Savannah‚s rich history and diverse local bird
population, and Jekyll Island‚s coastal wildlife and regional conservation.
The Islands of New England‚ a 7-day, 6-night itinerary, sails the
coastal waterways of Massachusetts and Rhode Island, bringing passengers to
Nantucket, Martha‚s Vineyard and other New England gems.
Chicago to Rhode Island on the 16-day, 15-night Great American Waterways,
while sailing the famed Erie and Oswego Canals and four of the Great Lakes
Michigan, Huron, Erie and Ontario.
Magical Lake Michigan‚ invites passengers to explore ports of all
sizes along Lake Michigan for an 8-day, 7-night cruise, beginning and ending
from the Midwest metropolis of Chicago.
The Atlantic Coastal Waterways‚ itinerary is a 16-day, 15-night
adventure. Traveling from Jacksonville, FL to Warren, RI, this cruise visits a
total of 15 ports, giving guests the chance to experience the southern charm of
Savannah, GA, the coastal metropolis of Norfolk, VA, and the historic town of
Newport, RI, known for its opulent mansions.
All Blount cruises include three meals daily with menus that are fresh, creative
and often reflect the local cuisine, refreshments and snacks 24-hours a day,
plus guest lectures and workshops. Blount cruises also feature a BYOB policy,
with mixers and set-ups for cocktails available throughout the day, along with
complimentary house wine and beer offered during lunch and dinner. |
