The 88,500-ton, 2,124-passenger ship now has a WaterWorks aqua park with the Green Thunder water attraction, 214-foot-long Twister slide and a children’s spray park with a 150-gallon PowerDrencher tipping bucket. The ship, which entered service in 2002, also has some of the brand’s new restaurants, including the tropics-inspired RedFrog Pub and full-service Bonsai Sushi restaurant.

It now also offers two new entertainment options. Playlist Productions are the line’s snazzy new shows that combine live performances and high-tech special effects. Hasbro, The Game Show, lets guests participate in productions and entertainment activities based on the company’s popular games

The two-week dry-dock project in Freeport, Bahamas, also included upgraded swimming pools and gym equipment, new carpeting, tile work and new wall coverings.

Carnival Legend will continue to operate seven-day Caribbean cruises from Tampa through Aug. 17, when it will embark on a 13-day Panama Canal transit that ends in Long Beach, Calif., on Aug. 30. The ship then will sail a 23-day trans-Pacific voyage to Sydney, positioning the vessel for a seasonal program of eight- to 12-day cruises featuring destinations throughout New Caledonia, Vanuatu and Fiji.
