SuperStar Virgo Sails to Sanya and Halong Bay

Star Cruises is offering a dozen shore excursions to China’s southernmost paradise, Sanya, and Vietnam’s UNESCO World Heritage Site, Halong Bay, to passengers cruising out from Hong Kong this summer.

Between 7 April and 26 October, SuperStar Virgo will be setting sail for Sanya and Halong Bay weekly from Hong Kong on a 4 day 3 night itinerary.

The trips will showcase the natural wonders of these sunny and gorgeous destinations and the authentic favors of local cuisines.

Sanya: the Hawaii of China - Sanya’s powdery-white, squeaky-clean beaches and azure waters were extensively featured in the Chinese blockbuster “If You Are the One 2”. The Tropic Tour will take you to Yalong Bay, the number one bay in China where the Chinese romantic comedy was filmed. Stretching 7,500 kilometers in length, the half-moon bay in the southern end of Hainan is a heaven for sunbathers looking for the perfect white velvet sand to rest on. Do not miss the trip to Yalong Bay Tropical Paradise Rainforest Park, which is set in the hillsides looking over the resort district. The 1,506-hectare national forest park is the first of its kind in Hainan. The park is ideal for tourist activities like mountain climbing, outdoor exploration, sightseeing, science education and folk customs experience. The tour is inclusive of a Hainan style lunch featuring four famous dishes of the province for you to see, feel and taste the best of Hainan in one go.

On the End of the Earth Tour, travelers will visit this must see spot of Hainan, once believed to be most remote spot on Earth, for its glorious ocean view and rich history. Since ancient times, many historical figures, officials and scholars have left their footprints there and carved poems on those rocks standing on the seashore. To get a bird’s eye view of downtown Sanya, go up the Luhuitou Park located in Luhuitou Peninsula. It covers five hills with a total area of 82.88 hectares and a highest elevation reaching 181 meters. The hilltop is noted for being an excellent place to catch the sunrise and sunset. The tour also includes a scrumptious seafood lunch at a local hotel.

Many of our tours will take travelers to the UNESCO World Heritage Site on sightseeing boats so that they can get up close to the gorgeous limestone mountains and cliffs jutting from the calm waters. Acclaimed as the most beautiful primitive cave of the stunning bay, Heavenly cave has a unique system of stalactites and stalagmites in different forms and shapes.

At Ha Nam Village, you can admire the peaceful landscape and immerse in the simplistic local life by learning how to make bamboo boats and fish net handicrafts.
