  Holland America Starts Building New Ship  
Menu Construction has started on Holland America Line’s new flagshipor soon to be a fleet mate of the MS Maasdam,

Steel was cut at the Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera, Italy, on the new 99,500-ton Pinnacle-class ship due out in February 2016. It’s a new class of ship for Holland America Line and its largest ever.

The line has not yet selected a name for the 2,648-passenger ship.

“This is a proud day for Holland America Line as we officially begin construction on our new Pinnacle Class ship,” said Holland America President and CEO Stein Kruse. “We’re thrilled to be back at Fincantieri for such a milestone, and the next two years are going to be exciting as we unveil a host of new features that will be found onboard.”
