Cruceros Australis Shortens Name in Rebranding of Expedition Cruise Line
Menu

The expedition cruise line Cruceros Australis will now operate under the brand name Australis.

The company said the shorter title will “resonate with consumers” because the word “Australis” means “South,” and the company explores the southernmost regions of South America, from Punta Arenas, Chile, to Ushuaia, Argentina, the southernmost city in the world.

Australis operates the 136-passenger Via Australis and the 200-guest Stella Australis from September through April. The upcoming 2013-14 season will include three-, four- and seven-night itineraries. Rates start at $1,389 per person, including airport transfers, shore excursions and an open bar.

The company said it is developing itineraries with new partners National Geographic photographer Tommy Heinrich and Explora, a tour operator specializing in remote areas of South America.
