Edie Bornstein, the senior vice president of sales and marketing for Azamara Club Cruises, departed the company on Sept. 27 headed for Crystal Cruises to  take up the position of President.

Bornstein joined Azamara in 2009.  Rob Zeiger, spokesman for parent company Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. “She helped establish the DNA of Azamara and is one of the primary architects of that brand. We are going to miss her dearly.”

Bornstein, who was a vivacious representative of Azamara at many travel agent conferences, is the third high-profile executive to depart RCCL in recent weeks. Lisa Bauer, Royal Caribbean International’s executive vice president of global sales and marketing, left Sept. 12 after 11 years.

Cris de Souza, the popular Celebrity Cruises executive who worked with home-based travel agents and trade associations, also departed on Sept. 12 as part of a corporate reorganization that eliminated about 100 jobs. Zeiger said Bornstein’s direct reports now will report to Azamara President and CEO Larry Pimentel.

Prior to joining Azamara, Bornstein was vice president of business development and strategic partnerships for Carnival Cruise Lines. Before that, she was a senior officer at Cunard, where she developed partnerships with organizations including Canyon Ranch Spa, Hermes, Chopard, Dunhill, Waterford, Wedgwood and Veuve Clicquot.
