Avalon Waterways has chosen Australian television host Deborah Hutton to christen the Avalon Illumination in June 2014. It is one of three new Suites Ships Avalon will introduce next year. Christening plans are under way for the Avalon Poetry II and Avalon Impression in 2014.

A former model, Hutton is currently the host of Australia’s popular “Foxtel Movie Show.” Last year Hutton founded “Balance by Deborah Hutton,” an online community designed to provide women practical advice to help them maintain balance in their lives. She has also served as a brand ambassador for Australian companies like Qantas.

Avalon says about 30 percent of its guests hail from Australia, a market that particularly likes 10- to 14-day cruises; Illumination will sail several of those longer itineraries.

Illumination will have two full decks of suites, which feature the Open-Air Balcony, wall-to-wall windows that can be transformed into an open-air balcony. The Suite Ships also feature a club, main lounge and dining room with sweeping views, hair salon, Sky Deck whirlpool and outdoor bistro for grilled lunches. Accommodations feature flowers, L’Occitane products in the marble bathrooms and Avalon-branded deluxe bedding.
