Oceania Plans Special 180-Day World Voyage for Insignia in 2015
Menu Oceania Cruises is planning a six-month, port-intensive voyage for its 698-passenger Insignia in 2015. The voyage, which is roughly 80 days longer than a typical World Cruise, will visit 89 ports in 33 countries on five continents. The Insignia currently is chartered to Hapag-Lloyd Cruises but returns to Oceania in April.

Oceania President Kunal Kamlani told top travel agents in a conference call that the round-the-world voyage would depart from Miami on Jan. 10, 2015, and sail to the Caribbean, South America, Africa, India, Asia, Australia/New Zealand, South Pacific, Hawaii and back to Miami. It will be sold as a full voyage, priced from $39,999 per person, from July 17 through Sept. 17. After that, eight segments will be sold.

An official announcement is expected on July 8 with flyers out shortly after and a full brochure and microsite due in September. Those who book the full voyage will get free first-class air, prepaid gratuities, a visa package, unlimited Internet, luggage delivery, laundry service and free onboard medical service, a perk likely to appeal to guests who typically are age 60 or 65 years old and older.
