Ponant's small ships are not well know outside of France were the
company is based. However, there small ships are appearing everywhere with
itineraries that literally cover the globe. Worldwide has been actively involved with Le Compagne du Ponant since its inception some 20 years ago during that time we have supported them with numerous charters and groups as well as assisting them to break into the American corporate cruise market. Today the original company bears little relationship to the ambitious small company started by a group of sea going friends, it has over the years developed into a major industry force and with the addition of it's four new luxury ship become one of the major players in their market segment competing with the likes of Silverseas, Seabourn and Windstar. The sole remaining member of the original group of three - jean-Emmnuel Sauvee recently was interviewed on television, discussing their fleet and their ambitious plans for the future.
