What’s Hot this August

As the final dog days of summer move on at record heat there is some cool news in the cruise world.

First off a new major player is coming to California offering 3 and 4 night cruises from Los Angeles starting in September of 2013.  The ship will offer a ton of balcony cabins and will also offer some different itineraries.

Panama Canal cruises appear to be very popular with several more some cruise lines offering a complete canal crossing as part of their itineraries.  From firsthand experience space is already limited.  Keep in mind that the Panama Canal is undergoing a major construction program and it is most interesting to watch what is taking place to this man made marvel.

One major cruise line is adding a short series of roundtrip Athens cruises to their summer of 2013 offerings.  The itineraries are really great and should sell very well but keep in mind there are only a hand full of departures.

It’s no secret the summer season this year in the Med has been a real challenge for all of the cruise lines due to the economic situation in Europe and the lack and the cost of transatlantic flights.  Many cruise lines are getting a head of the curve for next summer by offering some very attractive rates for next summer’s cruise season right.  If you or your clients have interest in the Med for next summer I would start trying to find a deal now.  Call or email me for details.

August just might be the best time of year to buy a cruise.  Just like buying a car, generally the last days of the month are great times to get a deal.  Well in the cruise world August is the last day of the month.  Give us a call for some great opportunities that are available.
