We only get to see some of these kinds of places in James Bond movies, used by Bond-worthy villains. Another unconventional home for those with good money and an urge to own such a secretive and rather unconventional place, Norway is where you should be headed. The Scandinavian country is now selling-off its Olavsvern Naval Base in Northern Norway at an asking price of $17.5 million. This old and safe nuclear submarine base has been used by NATO and the Norwegian Navy for a span of 50 years, and has cost NATO over 3 billion Norwegian Krone to build.
As, now neither NATO nor Norway is in need for such a base in the north anymore, so they are selling it off. This Naval base offers a total of 13,500 sq. ft of beautiful property above the ground, along with the 2,500 sq. meter of real-massive dock below the ground and 25,000 sq. meter of assorted goodness that includes, a dry dock to receive the submarines or boats, large sized workshops, an office space, a warehouse, a tunnel system, an emergency power system and fuel systems.
Buyers interested shall also note that only electricity bill is going to come around millions annually.
Historically, the American submarines which were out on an assignment in the world's shallowest, Arctic Ocean, used this naval base during the Cold War. Olavsvern was used as a naval base only until 2003, later it was reduced to a supply base. And, it has been in controversy, whether it should be discontinued or sold. Also, NATO was not earlier approving the sale of Olavsvern.
Reportedly, an accident happened on 14th March 2005 in a scuba-exercise inside the Naval base, which led to the tragic death of SBS Commander Lt. Colonel Richard van der Horst.

when buying one, this Norwegian place is a perfect
place to dock your million dollar toy, unless you
prefer it hidden underneath the superyacht like the
Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich does.
