Potential UFO Spotted Under The Baltic Sea

An ocean salvage exploration company has found what appears to be a UFO-like object at the bottom of the Baltic Sea.

A mysterious circular image appeared on scientist’s imaging equipment while they were scanning the ocean floor this week. Researchers have claimed the grainy image is proof that a flying saucer is laying 300 feet down on the ocean floor between Sweden and Finland.

The team which found the object said the earth around the craft has been scarred, suggesting the object has tried to move around. The find came as the crew was searching for a century-old wreck in the area.

The sonar images are vague at best, but the object still bears a very strange resemblance to the Star Wars Millennium Falcon.

Lead researcher Peter Lindberg has also suggested that the object could be evidence of “a new Stonehenge.” he noted that the mysterious object is about 200 feet across.

“You see a lot of weird stuff in this job, but during my 18 years as a professional I have never seen anything like this. The shape is completely round,” Lindberg remarked.

The discovery, while mystifying, most likely has a much less sensational explanation than coming from an alien world. It could perhaps be the remains of a sunken vessel or even just a huge rock formation. An official explanation will come later after the expedition crew goes in for a closer look.

Originally, the crew was not planning to check into the object any further due to budget constraints. But with so much excitement and donations pouring in, the team said it will revisit the area soon.

The discovery has touched off a wave of speculation by UFO enthusiasts and bloggers. And Swedish newspapers have put the story on the front pages and asked readers if this is really the first real sign of extraterrestrial life.

If the mysterious object does turn out to be a UFO it would be priceless, but if it is just a shape, it will be worthless.

The discovery reminds us of past claims of mysterious findings found under the sea. The most famous claim was the “Bimini Road” rock formation in the Caribbean which looked like a road, leading many to believe it was part of the lost city of Atlantis. However, geologist say the formation was naturally formed.

Experts have also pointed out that even the idea of a flying saucer as a round object might be wrong – the first sighting of such a craft later turned out to be a reporting error.
