Bill Smith Resigns from Crystal

Crystal Cruises announces the resignation of Bill Smith, senior vice president, sales & marketing, effective May 6. Smith joined Crystal in 2004, when he relocated from south Florida to join the Los Angeles-based luxury line, following stints with Silversea, Costa Cruise Line, and several other cruise lines. Smith plans to move to Seattle and take a position with travel agent network, Virtuoso.

“Bill has been a passionate advocate of travel agents for decades,” says Crystal’s President Gregg Michel. “We thank him for his many creative contributions and his continuing endeavors to foster Crystal’s relationship with respected travel professionals worldwide. We wish Bill every success in his new position and look forward to his continuing support of Crystal Cruises in his new capacity at Virtuoso.”

Crystal’s veteran sales and marketing executives are currently planning for the luxury line’s 20th annual Sales Awards Gala honoring its top-producing worldwide travel agents for 2010.
