In our office, where much of the conversation is about cruises, it is hard for us to believe sometimes how many people in the MICE industry have never been on a cruise. There are so many preconceived misconceptions about a cruise that can only be understood or explained by actually taking a cruise.
One of the most common misconceptions is that lines must be terrible on these big ships. Let me give you a couple of examples of reality today on a big ship. To get on the largest ship in the world today actually takes me about 20 minutes from parking my car, going through security, check-in, having my photo taken and being on-board with a glass of champagne in my hand. Try that when boarding a 747.
The lines for dining must be long and time consuming? On today’s ships, Most cruise lines offer dining at your leisure and with numerous dining options for all meals, lines are almost non-existent or you’re given a buzzer just as in a restaurant. So go have a drink and wait a few minutes.
We often hear - “I'm going to get bored being on-board for a week” - not true at all, many cruise itineraries have a stop in port most everyday, so you can go ashore and sample the local culture, shop or hit the beach, plus there are endless on-board activities one can participate in. Even on longer cruises such as a trans-Atlantic repositioning cruise many clients have said how restful it is to be at sea not to mention the huge choice of diversions on offer, everything from guest lecturers to computer classes and a myriad of things in between.
We have long promoted the concept of encouraging our clients and colleagues to experience modern day cruising for themselves and Worldwide is pleased to be able from time to time, have the opportunity to invite clients on cruises so they can see for themselves what a cruise is like as well as having informative business sessions to answer any and all questions about cruising.
If you would like to be consider for one of these cruises just drop me a line. Site inspection request
