Tim
Gallagher,
vice
president
of
public
relations
at
Carnival
Cruise
Lines,
has left
the
company.
His
long-time
deputy,
Jennifer
de la
Cruz,
has been
promoted
to
senior
director
of the
department.
“In a
reorganization
of the
public
relations
department,
Tim
Gallagher
will be
moving
on to
pursue
other
opportunities,”
said Jim
Berra,
Carnival’s
chief
marketing
officer.
“I know
I speak
for the
entire
organization
in
thanking
Tim for
his
leadership
and
contributions
in
helping
to build
the
Carnival
brand.”
For more than 30 years he has been an indispensable aid, resource and friend to hundreds, if not thousands, of journalists around the world. He taught a generation of reporters, including myself, how the cruise industry worked, and he ran the travel industry’s most professional and responsive public relations department. Without his unhesitating assistance global cruise industry coverage would be less robust, accurate and timely.’No other cruise line does public relations as well as Carnival, and Tim Gallagher has been the driving force behind that. His departure is a great loss for the company.
Of
de la
Cruz,
Berra
said:
“She has
demonstrated
impressive
energy,
drive
and the
ability
to work
effectively
across
the
organization
and our
roster
of
marketing
agencies
and will
do a
great
job of
continuing
to
strengthen
our
brand.”
