Holland America Line has
named Tony Archbold to the position of
director of sales, Australia. Archbold is
responsible for managing all aspects of
sales activities including developing the
sales strategy, implementation and directing
sales programs, and staff for both Holland
America Line and Seabourn.
“Tony’s extensive experience in sales in Australia and in the tourism industry will be an asset in this important role,” said Richard Meadows, executive vice president marketing, sales and guest programs. “Australia is a key international market and with Tony’s expertise we are poised for success, especially given the rapid growth in Australia and New Zealand and an increase of 25 percent capacity at the homeport, Sydney, with the addition of ms Oosterdam. He has worked with and earned the respect of many of the same key tour operators and travel agencies that have strong relationships with Holland America Line.”
Archbold joins Holland America Line from Creative Holidays, the Australian FIT division of The Travel Corporation, where he held the position of National Sales Manager since 2003. In this role Archbold doubled sales and lead the sales team for Creative Holidays to win five consecutive International Wholesalers of the Year awards as well as Hall of Fame entrance at the National Travel Industry Awards.
Archbold also held sales management positions with Rosenbluth International, SBT Business Travel Solutions, Transport & Distribution Consultants Pty Ltd, Eva and Northwest Airlines, and Thai Airways. He brings more than 29 years of strategy, marketing and sales experience to his new role.
Archbold studied Theology at Moore Theological College and later completed a Master of Transport Management degree at the University of Sydney.
