Windstar Exec's move over from Ambassador

Hans Birkholz continues as president and ceo of Windstar Cruises, but resigned his roles at Windstar's former parent company, Ambassadors International, as did Mark Detillion, cfo, and Tammy Smolkowski, chief accounting officer.

An Ambassadors filing stated they had ‘resigned as officers of the company and its subsidiaries.’

A Windstar spokeswoman explained the moves are part of Ambassadors' winding down following Windstar's acquisition in late May by Xanterra Parks & Resorts. Xanterra purchased Windstar in the bankruptcy auction of Ambassadors' assets.

Eugene Davis, Ambassadors’ chairman since November 2009, was appointed president and treasurer of Ambassadors. According to a filing, he is not receiving any compensation for the new roles, other than what he receives as sole director of the company.
