Silversea Makes Board and Management Changes

Silversea continues to evolve and to further strengthen its managerial structure.

Following the past year of development during which Enzo Visone took over as Executive Chairman, the Board of Directors has decided to appoint Visone as Group CEO. The role was de facto being successfully covered by Visone so such appointment formalizes his new role.

As of result of this change, Manfredi Lefebvre d'Ovidio returns as Chairman fully supporting Visone's mandate. Lefebvre has been part of the Silversea organization since the beginning of the company at the beginning of the nineties, so not only does he guarantee continuity, but his specific experience within the luxury segment of cruising will undoubtedly add value to the overall management team. Lefebvre is also the Chairman of the European Cruise Council (ECC) the representative body of the cruise industry in Europe.

"We are pleased to welcome Enzo to this position," said Lefebvre. "Enzo has had an illustrious career as an international manager and CEO in high-end consumer goods in both private and publicly listed companies. He has lived and worked in eight different countries bringing a cultural know-how that is essential in developing international businesses. I have known him for many years and am convinced he will add enormous value to Silversea Cruises.

Visone will work closely with Amerigo Perasso, Silversea's President and CEO, and the entire management team in which I confirm my complete confidence to further strengthen the company's leadership position in the luxury cruise sector."

(Note: 01/10/2011 - Silversea's Amerigo Perasso Departs as President & CEO, has abruptly resigned his position, the luxury line confirmed. Perasso was named      president in February 2007 after serving as chief financial and revenue officer since 2004; he first joined the company in 1997. Perasso’s departure comes four months after the appointment of former Campari CEO Enzo Visone as executive chairman of the board of Silversea Cruise Holding Inc., the cruise line’s parent company, after owner Manfredi Lefebvre stepped down as deputy chairman. The online industry publication Seatrade Insider quoted Lefebvre as saying Perasso’s departure was not due to any personal or professional rancor between the two executives. Lefebvre also said he did not anticipate seeking a replacement. In the U.S., Ken Watson serves as executive vice president and COO of Silversea Cruises.)

Lefebvre added, "While I will continue to contribute my consolidated experience in the industry, I will now have more time to dedicate to other business interests and philanthropic projects for which I will also avail myself of Enzo Visone's support, without distancing myself from the core business that is Silversea Cruises."

Visone has dual nationality (British/Italian) and was educated in London where he graduated in economics. He brings to the company decades of hands-on management experience acquired in international companies in the US, Europe and the Middle East. Most recently he served as Chief Executive Officer in an asset management company based in Milan. Prior to that he was CEO of the Campari Group, a major player in the global branded beverage industry, and where he led a phenomenally successful campaign to grow the Group internationally.

The potential going forward is such that a management team must be strong and complementary in order to harvest the various opportunities. Silversea is no exception and is convinced that these changes will enhance the company's ability to prepare for the future.
