Holland America Line Promotes Dan Grausz to Executive Vice President, Fleet Operations

As part of its corporate reorganization following the relocation of Seabourn Cruise Line to Seattle, Holland America Line has promoted Dan Grausz to executive vice president, fleet operations. In addition to his current responsibilities for Holland America Line, Grausz will assume all fleet and newbuilding responsibilities for Seabourn.

Grausz will continue to report directly to Stein Kruse, president and chief executive officer, and will work closely with the Seabourn management team.

“Dan has been integrally involved with all aspects of Holland America Line's marine hotel, nautical, technical, security, safety and environmental management systems, and compliance programs,” said Kruse. “As well, he has overseen operations policy and planning, purchasing, logistics and vessel construction. He will play a significant role in helping to bring out the new Seabourn Quest this summer and in all aspects of fleet operations.”

Grausz previously served as Holland America Line’s vice president and general counsel and, since 2004, has been the senior vice president, fleet operations. He has been a key participant on the line’s senior management team since 1988.

Prior to joining Holland America Line, Grausz was a partner at the Seattle firm of Helsell, Fetterman, Martin, Todd & Hokanson, and also practiced law in New York City.

Grausz has a bachelor of science degree from Cornell University, a master of business administration from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and a law degree from the University of Pennsylvania.

Since 1999 Grausz has served on the city council of Mercer Island, Wash., where he lives with his wife, Clare Meeker, who is an author of several children’s books.
